CALLING YOUR NAME

Many are frustrated, thrown off balance and lack direction. Many are tired, worn out and some even burned out and growing weary in doing the work of sharing their Christian faith with others. Christ invites these and offers them comfort and rest. God actually loves and cares over and above your weaknesses and mistakes and your dreams, goals, and ambitions. Amid the hassles and cares that come at us from many directions, we must keep Him at the centre of our lives.

Jesus knows and understands when you are busy worrying about the needs of this life or chasing your wish to get rich. God sees when you slowly change your priorities and give him a back seat. When he hardly hears from you and rarely sees you meditate on his Word, he recognises these early signals of a slight dwindling of the joy of loving and trusting God. The enemy of our souls will pick this distance developing he moves in to launch all kinds of attacks against you. Christ is ready to block any manoeuvre of the evil one and invites you to come (back) to him for his protection. God does not condemn you (Rom 8:1-2). Actually he wants you to draw near to him he will draw near to you." (James 4:8).

Jesus knows when you are weighed-down by the troubles of life and when you are carrying a mountain of burdens. He knows when the faults of your human nature are hard to shake off and how they hinder you from running the godly race (Heb 12:1). When you are in a bleak place it is not easy to sing and to have melody in your heart unto the Lord (Eph 5:19). Jesus knows as well that if you allow your circumstances to silence your private praise and worship. Satan uses this aspect of distance, to try to break through the hedge of protection that God places around you, to attack your possessions (Job 1:15-16). Take heart, Jesus is praying for you (Luke 22:31-32). He is your strength and he will not let you go to pieces.

Jesus calls your name and encourages you to hang in there. God makes it possible for Christ to lead you to victory, and cause you to triumph. Remember that when you are at your weakest then the power of God within you will rise to make you strong in Christ (2 Cor 12:10). You are never alone, Jesus is with you through thick and thin (Heb 13:5). He cares for you (1 Pet 5:7). Today, Christ is ready to turn you turmoil into tranquillity; your frustrations into fulfilment; your concerns into comfort. Go to him.

If you are finding things heavier than you can bear and would want to have the active involvement of Him who offers you rest, just audibly say, "Jesus Christ, I need these heavy burdens and pressure to lift so that I can at least breathe. I come to you at your invitation, for the rest you promise." Then talk to a Christian you know for further information.
