OUR CHOICES

Our physical and material needs are connected (not separate) to our beliefs. We choose to trust God when we need healing (Ps 107:20); and to supply our material needs (Phil 4:19). We choose to depend on God rather than see an employer as our source or a doctor as the origin of our healing. God blesses the businesses of our employers because we are there (Gen 45:8). When necessary, God uses medical services to hand over the healing that Jesus produced for us on the cross (1 Pet 2:24). We choose to depend on God. We choose these spiritual values.

We choose to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit and His revelation of Jesus Christ (Rom 8: 14), rather than being ruled by a religious system and traditions or what the stars foretell. The Holy Spirit lives within us. We choose to let the Holy Spirit give us direction for our lives (John 16:13-15). We choose to submit to His promptings and inward urgings so that we think, speak and act in harmony with the scriptures. Indeed, the Holy Spirit reveals Jesus to and through us (John 15:26), and shows us things to come. We choose not to become insensitive and unyielding to the Holy Spirit (Rev 2:5-7).

We choose to hold God in deep respect and love (1 Sam 2:30). In today’s world, where the emphasis is on personal self-sufficiency and independence, self-interest and personal convenience (Titus 3:3; 2 Tim 3:4), we choose to honour God and submit to His will for our lives (1 John 2:17). God alone can give true meaning and lasting purpose to life. We will fail dismally in defining and giving purpose to our existence, if we disregarded God (John 15:5). We choose reverence and respect for God and the things of God, rather than arrogance or a hard heart towards Him (Heb 3:7-11), and His Kingdom.

We choose to live by faith and hope in God, rather than putting our trust in objective facts and educated opinions and fickle fate. No matter what, ours is not a god of mythology. He is the True God and He cares for us (1 Pet 5:7). Sometimes those things we desire and search for seem impossible to attain (Matt 19:26), but with God’s help, we get to see, handle, possess, and experience the things we hoped for (Heb 11:1). We choose to remain unshakeable in our confidence in Him (1 Cor 15:57-58), and in His promises (Psl 37:4).

God has chosen you (Eph 1:4-5; John 15:16); and the best choice a person can make is to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ (Rom 10:9). With that, there lies before you a great hope and a wonderful future (Jeri 29:11).
